New Delhi: Fast bowler Matt Henry took a sensational catch at the boundary during the third ODI match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at the Eden Park in Auckland on January 11. The hosts are leading the three-match ODI series by 2-0.
During the 30th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, Michael Bracewell bowled a full delivery and Asalanka lofted it high up in the air towards long-off and Henry ran to his right to stop the ball. He took the ball on the first attempt threw it in the air when he was about to touch the boundary cushions, and came back to take it on the second attempt. Asalanka was dismissed on duck without troubling the scoreboard.

Sri Lanka 290/8 in 50 overs
Sri Lanka opted to bat first on a flat track in the third and final of the series at the Eden Park in Auckland. Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando forged a 66-run partnership for the opening wicket. Nathan Smith removed Fernando on 17 runs and provided New Zealand their first breakthrough. Nissanka got retired hurt due to a groin injury but his innings set the platform for the visitors. Kusal Mendis also played an important knock and kept the scoreboard ticking.
Kamindu Mendis also chipped in and scored handy runs for the team after that, while Nissanka came back and smashed a couple of boundaries before he was removed by Mitchell Santner. The lower-order batters along with Liyanage forged some crucial partnerships and ensured Sri Lanka reached the 290-run mark. Matt Henry picked up 4 wickets and Santner took two wickets. Chasing the target, the Kiwis are off to a poor start and lost 4 wickets in 7 overs.
