Matuesz Rebecki and Myktybek Orolbai deliver ‘fight of the year’ contender at UFC 308

New Delhi: Mateusz Rebecki faced Myktybek Orolbai in a catchweight division at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 26, Saturday. Rebecki is the alumni of Dana White’s contender series, he also started his career on a solid note by winning three fights consecutively. But got a setback as in his last fight he suffered a TKO loss against Diego Ferreira.

Meanwhile, Orolbai started his career in the welterweight division but changed his weight category in May. Orolbai defeated Elves Brener in the lightweight division.

Orolbai started things off by throwing some hard punches to Rebecki but Rebecki stunned Orolbai as he hit a solid punch to him. Rebecki was looking for a knockout, he hit straight punches and left hooks to Orolbai. Orolbai’s eye got swallowed up in the first round itself. At the end of the round, Orolbai caught Rebecki with a straight punch.

Orolbai started aggressively in the second round as he hurt Rebecki with some punches and elbows. After that, he also landed two uppercuts and tried to takedown Rebecki. Orolbai ate a powerful left jab to his swallowing eye, Rebecki again looking to finish things off but Orolbai defended and survived the second round.

Orolbai hit some nasty elbows at the start of the third round to Rebecki but Rebecki reversed the attack and hit two straight punches that dropped Orolbai to the ground. Immediately Rebecki went for the ground and pound that caused blood everywhere of Orolbai. Orolbai showed great toughness in the fight as he never gave up in the fight. Both were on their feet into the last moments of the fights and delivered a war in the UFC 308 event.

Fans were cheering up after the fight ended. The fight was classic and brutal. It will be included in one of the best fights this year.
