New Delhi: Dropping a catch in the game of cricket does lead to embarrassment for fielders as they can cost you an unfavoured result. The cliche goes by ‘catches win you matches’ but drop catches only makes one guilty or in the other world, it makes you a meme sensation on internet.
One such hilarious incident has hit the internet recently with Stuey Elleray being the laughing stock. During a club cricket match in England between Sanderstead Cricket Club and Merton Boars, Elleray was found to drop a catch in the most funniest way.
Merton Boars batter Mark Barber, who scored an unbeaten 117, was dropped by Elleray near the boundary ropes. Barber heaved one near the long-on, where Elleray was stationed at. From standing to sitting, Elleray made six juggle attempts before spilling the catch and eventually led the way for a laugh riot. The video was shared by the X (formerly knowns as Twitter) handle named That’s so village.

Sanderstead Cricket Club chased down the moderate target of 240 in 30.3 overs with eight wickets to spear. Barber’s century efforts went in vain with the determination shown by Sanderstead top order batting unit. Elleray might be contented with his team results but surely he must have watched his own dropped catch video and allowed himself to burst into laughter.
