New Delhi: New Zealand produced a dominant all-round performance to crush South Africa in the second semi-final and storm into the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Wednesday, March 05. Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra slammed centuries apiece while the spinners shone as New Zealand registered a thumping victory by 50 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
David Miller’s valiant unbeaten ton went in vain as South Africa failed to chase down the huge target of 363 runs in the all-important final. In pursuit of the monumental target, the Proteas got off to a shaky start as they lost opener Ryan Rickelton cheaply on 17 off 12 balls but skipper Temba Bavuma combined with Rassie van der Dussen to get their run-chase back on track.
