New Delhi: Being multi-talented, who dabbles in swimming, running and playing the Hindustani classical instrument tabla, Aryaveer Pandey had a choice to make. The 12-year-old picked football, which he believes is his true calling, and after being included in the final list of 32 young kids who were selected to fly to Austria for training as part of News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses campaign, few could disagree with him.

Aryaveer was initially among the 50,000 kids whose names were enrolled for trials in TV9 Network’s pan-India football talent hunt initiative, where 16,000 schools took part in eight scouting camps across the country.

Those 50,000 were pruned to around 3,000 girls and 7,000 boys for further trials after impressing with their footballing skills. The list was then trimmed to 32, who would now travel to Austria for an opportunity to learn the nuances of the ‘beautiful game’ from some of the top European coaches.

Gurugram’s prodigy’s big leap to Austria

A student of Salwan Public School in Gurugram, Aryaveer is keen to become a professional footballer and has already immersed himself in regular training on a ground in his locality.

Though he still practices the tabla, and is into swimming and athletics, his focus is unwavering on improving his footballing technique, for which he is prepared to train diligently.

His proud parents have instilled a disciplined approach in him and fuelled him with passion required to pursue dreams. The trip to Austria could just be the shot in the arm that a promising talent like Aryaveer needs to progress in football.

At the trials, the midfielder caught the eye for his natural technical ability, vision on the field, composure on the ball and relentless determination. If nurtured properly, all these attributes could enable him to become a midfielder to watch out for.

Already overjoyed at Aryaveer being chosen to train in Austria, his parents hope it is just a stepping stone for bigger things.

As part of a pan-India campaign to identify talented players, News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses football initiative concluded with a grand finale at the Sudeva ground in New Delhi on Saturday, March 8.

Before flying to Austria to receive modern training from some of Europe’s top coaches, the 32 selected kids would have the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at TV9 Network’s What India Thinks Today (WITT) summit on March 28.

Gurugram’s 12-year-old kid Aryaveer Pandey is also set to fly to Austria for training after being picked to be among 32 promising talents as part of News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses football campaign.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
