New Delhi: Pakistan fast bowler Khurram Shahzad celebrated aggressively after dismissing Mominul Haque with a stunning delivery in the first Test match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Mominul scored his half-century in 75 balls and stitched a crucial partnership with Shadman Islam.

Bangladesh were in a comfortable position in the test after the partnership between Mominul and Shadman but Shahzad produced a brilliant delivery out of nowhere to dismiss the left-hander. The ball from round the wicket nipped back in from a good length and beat the inside edge and defence of the batter which led to an aggressive celebration from the fast bowler towards Mominul.

Earlier in the day, Shahzad produced a similar delivery to dismiss Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto. He made his debut against Australia last year and picked up five wickets but ended up on the losing side. He was ruled out of the series due to a rib stress fracture.

Bangladesh finished Day 3 on 316/5

A 240-run partnership between Rizwan and Shakeel helped Pakistan to post 448 runs in the first innings. Rizwan scored an unbeaten 171 runs and became the fifth Pakistani batsman to score 150+ runs in a Test innings.

He had a brilliant chance to score his double-century but skipper Shan Masood declared the innings to give Pakistan bowlers a chance to take wickets in the last 12 overs of the day. Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam managed to see off the day by scoring just 27 runs but they started the day 3 poorly and lost early wickets.

Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque stitched a 94-run crucial partnership for the third wicket and rescued the team from a troubling position. Saim Ayub dismissed Shakib Al Hasan cheaply but a brilliant partnership between Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das kept Bangladesh in the match. Both are unbeaten in the middle and will look to add more runs on Day 4 for their team. Bangladesh trailing by 132 runs at the stumps on Day 3.
