New Delhi: Pakistan started their campaign in the Test series against Bangladesh on a poor note as the first innings of the first Test match didn’t prove to be fruitful enough. After the hosts were put into bat first, they lost suffered an early collapse losing as many as 3 wickets with just 16 runs on the board. The most critical of all the wickets was that of Test skipper Babar Azam.
Babar’s poor form continued as he departed for a duck after facing just 2 balls in the second session of the day, after the first was washed out due to rain. Bangladesh bowler Shoriful Islam got rid of the star batter to bring joy in the Bangladesh camp. As soon as the skipper got dismissed, showing yet another miserable show, social media went crazy and trolled the Babar’s dismissal in a cheap manner.
This series means a lot to Pakistan as it is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. As of now, the Pakistan team is placed on the sixth position and a win in this Test series will surely give them some brownie points. The hosts, meanwhile, stabilised the innings after the early blows and managed to save the wickets in the session till Tea was called.
