‘Perfect revenge’: Social media erupts in joy as India avenge Adelaide loss by thrashing England

New Delhi: India took a perfect revenge of the 2022 T20 World Cup semis loss against England by thrashing them in the semifinal of 2024 edition on Thursday by 68 runs. With this ultra-dominating victory, the Men in Blue booked their place in the final of the showpiece event and will take on South Africa in the final match on Saturday.

Indian bowlers rout England

India bowlers wrecked havoc on the English batters after they were off to a brisk start. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav proved to be the magicians for the Men in Blue as they picked three wickets each, not allowing the batters to settle down. Two wickets were picked by pace spreadhead Jasprit Bumrah and the other two players got run out as India completed dominated the game almost right from the beginning.

England never looked perfectly placed in the chase apart from the first 2 to 3 overs. Once they lost the first wicket of Jos Buttler, the others started following him back to pavilion. Earlier, Team India rode on superlative knocks from skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. While Rohit played a pivotal knock of 57 runs, Surykumar scored 47 as India accumulated 171 in the stipulated 20 overs.

After India’s majestic win, social media erupted in joy as the Men in Blue were successful in completing the revenge and snatching the defending champions tag off the English side.

As tough as the clash seemed to be, the Men in Blue made it look so easy with a dominant effort in Guyana. While the Proteas look to be an easy opponent as compared to England, but nothing can be predicted as it’s the World Cup final.
