Known famously as ‘Power’ star Pawan Kalyan in Telugu film industry, got government power in his hands as he assumed duties as Deputy CM and Minister of Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, Environment, Forest, Science and Technology on Wednesday at the Secretariat in Amaravati.
He was blessed by Vedic scholars of Indrakiladri temple while performing puja in his chamber at the secretariat. He began his tenure as Deputy CM by signing files and will later meet IAS, IPS officers from Group-1 and Group-2.
Former Pithapuram MLA Verma, Janasena leader Kothapalli Subbarayudu, Nadendla Manohar and others were at the event.
Elected as Pithapuram MLA:
Kalyan, who fought from Pithapuram Assembly constituency, won his seat by a margin of 70,279 votes against his YSRCP rival Vanga Geetha in the Assembly elections held on May 13. He secured a total of 1,34,394 votes. He took oath in front of his extended family members and esteemed political guests from BJP last week at the oath ceremony.
Kalyan raged against the YSRCP, ex-CM Jagan Reddy for his dictatorial tendencies and lack of development in the state over the last two years.
He also comes into politics after having an esteemed career in Telugu film industry for over 20 years.
