Anthony Gordon opened the scoring with a stunning early goal, setting the tone for Newcastle’s dominance. Alexander Isak continued his impressive form, netting his fifth goal in as many Premier League matches, while Joelinton added a late third.

Nottingham Forest edged out Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 on Thursday, climbing to third place in the Premier League table. Anthony Elanga’s brilliant finish in the 28th minute sealed the win for Forest, while Tottenham’s woes deepened with a red card for Djed Spence and their fourth loss in five matches.

The opening belonged to Tottenham, with former Forest player Brennan Johnson threatening the goal. However, the tide turned dramatically when Forest launched a swift counter-attack. Morgan Gibbs-White unlocked the Tottenham defense with a perfect pass, leaving Elanga one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Elanga displayed composure to slot the ball past Fraser Forster for the game’s only goal.

This victory marked a significant milestone for Forest. Not only did it secure their third consecutive win in the top flight for the first time since 1995, but it also pushed them above their points total for the entire previous season.

Tottenham’s struggles continued as they offered very little after the break. Their frustration boiled over when Spence received a second yellow card in stoppage time. This defeat leaves Tottenham in 11th place and heaps pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou.

Manager Marco Silva’s tactical adjustments proved pivotal, with substitutes Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz combining to turn the game on its head. Wilson equalized with a header, and in a dramatic late surge, Muniz scored a breathtaking 95th-minute winner, silencing the home crowd.

This victory wasn’t just about ending Fulham’s losing streak; it was a statement of their ambition. Silva’s men, who had previously struggled at Stamford Bridge, demonstrated resilience and showcased their European aspirations with this hard-fought victory.

Southampton, under new manager Ivan Juric, started brightly against West Ham. Paul Onuachu missed several good chances, and West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski made some crucial saves. Despite a red card for Guido Rodriguez being overturned, West Ham scored through Jarrod Bowen.

Southampton continued to create chances but couldn’t convert them. Onuachu and Tyler Dibling had opportunities to equalize, but West Ham held on for the 1-0 victory. Juric will be encouraged by his team’s performance but disappointed with the lack of goals.

This win is a significant boost for West Ham, who have now gone four games unbeaten. Jarrod Bowen scored the winning goal, and despite injuries to key players, they showed resilience and climbed the table.

Bournemouth dominated possession but failed to capitalize on their chances, settling for a frustrating 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium. Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, the Cherries couldn’t find the back of the net, allowing Newcastle United to leapfrog them in the table.

The match saw both sides create half-chances, with Bournemouth enjoying a slight edge. However, a lack of clinical finishing prevented them from breaking the deadlock. Palace, while not as dominant, defended resolutely and frustrated Bournemouth’s attacking efforts.

This result was a setback for Bournemouth’s ambitions, as they had the opportunity to climb further up the table. While they remain in a strong position, the inability to convert their chances proved costly.
