New Delhi: Team India captain Rohit Sharma recently met with former Spain goalkeeper and legendary footballer Iker Casillas at the NBA Abu Dhabi 2024 on October 4, Friday. Rohit was spotted at the event with his wife Ritika Sajdeh.
Rohit and Iker Casillas clicked a picture together at the event which went viral on social media. Casillas is considered one of the most outstanding goalkeepers of all time. Under his leadership, Spain won the 2008 UEFA Euros and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Casillas is also a Real Madrid legend and Rohit Sharma is a huge fan of the Spanish club. The Indian captain also visited Santiago Bernabeu in 2020 and was gifted a special Real Madrid jersey with ‘RO45 engraved on the back of the shirt. The Indian captain was also seen posing with social media influencer and Tajikistani playback singer Abdu Rozik.

The Indian skipper is enjoying his break after wrapping up the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The Men in Blue defeated The Bangla Tigers by 280 runs in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Team India won the second Test by 7 wickets at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur within three days.
What’s next for Rohit Sharma?
Rohit and Co. will face New Zealand in the three-match Test series, starting on October 16 in Bengaluru. After that, Team India will tour Australia for the five-match Test series in late November. India is currently at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) table with a point percentage of 74.24 while Australia is in second position with a point percentage of 62.20.
