New Delhi: New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will have to wait to begin his tenure at Old Trafford due to work permit issues, according to reports. United confirmed that the former Sporting CP boss would take over the managerial role starting November 11, following the sacking of Erik ten Hag after a dismal run of results last month.
Amorim had an impressive track record as he clinched the 11th straight league victory with Sporting and most recently a 4-1 win over Manchester City in Champions League has given United fans hope as he head to Old Trafford with confidence and clear about the challenges that lies ahead.
The 39-year-old have time on his side as international break has just reached and his first match as in charge will take place on November 24th when the Red Devils will pay a visit to Premeir League new boy Ipswich Town. He will definitely want to get his feet under the desk well before that date as the interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has already set a high standard.
‘I’am not naive’
After Sporting’s recent win Ruben Amorim spoke to reporters about his upcoming challenge at Manchester United and while expressing enthusiasm he do acknowledged the difficulties of managing one of England’s top clubs. “I feel ready for the new challenge,” he shared, but quickly added, “I’m not naive. I know it’s going to be very different, very tough.”
Amorim is eager to begin his reign and is determined to make an immediate impact. He confirmed that his trusted 3-4-3 formation will be part of his approach. “You start with a structure that you know,” he explained, “Then you adapt with the players that you have.”

The one question that is raising eyebrows is what will happen to interim manager? United’s former striker has led the Red Devils to a dominating 3-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend and has overseen three wins along with a draw since Erik ten Hag’s exit.
Amorim, however, did not confirm his stay but said, “I have to talk with him tomorrow, and then I will explain everything. Let’s wait and see.” Currently Man United are sitting at 13th in the standings and are fighting to climb back into the top four.
