New Delhi: Samit Dravid, son of former India head coach Rahul Dravid bagged his maiden contract in the Maharaja Trophy. Mysore Warriors roped in Samit for INR 50,000. A medium pacer and middle-order batsman, Samit Dravid was the key member of the Karnataka Under-19 team that won the 2023-24 Cooch Behar Trophy.
He has scored 362 runs with the help of three half-centuries in 10 innings and also picked up 16 wickets in the 15 innings. He also played in the KSCA XI in a three-day match against the Lancashire in Alur. He will play under the leadership of Karun Nair in the Mysore Warriors.
“It’s good to have him in our side as he has shown a lot of promise in various age-group tournaments for KSCA,” a Warriors team official told PTI.

The Warriors also brought all-rounders, Krishnappa Gowtham for INR 7.4 lakh and Jagadeesha Suchith for INR 4.8 lakh, respectively. The runner-ups of last season also secured pacer Prasidh Krishna for INR 1 lakh. Prasidh underwent surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon recently.
Wicketkeeper-batter LR Chethan was the most expensive player at the auction, Bengaluru Blasters secured him for INR 8.2 Lakh. The Bengaluru Blasters will be led by Mayank Agarwal.
Maharaja KSCA Trophy to start on September 15
Top-order batter Devdutt Paddikkal who missed the last season due to injury was retained by the Gulbarga Mystics. They also retained Vijaykumar Vyshak. Defending champions Hubli Tigers secured leg-spinner, KC Cariappa for INR 4.2 lakh. Mangaluru Dragons also acquired leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal for INR 7.6 lakh.
The 2024 season of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 is expected to start from September 15 to October 1, with all the matches scheduled to take place at the e M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Maharaja Trophy is a rebranded tournament of now-defunct Karnataka Premier League after the latter was hit with alleged corruption.
