Sanju Samson draws massive flak after yet another flop show against England in 4th T20I

New Delhi: Sanju Samson’s flop show in the England series continued with yet another dismal run in the 4th T20I match in Pune on Friday. The Kerala batter came down on the crease with an aim to showcase his best after a series of poor performances in the opening three T20Is but unfortunately, he could not display his batting prowess.

After England invited the hosts to bat first, Samson was the first batter to get out on the first delivery of the second over as he threw his wicket away on the bowling off Saqib Mahmood. The opening batter was again dismissed on a short pitched delivery, like the previous match, which he attempted to pull but to his shock, it landed straight in the hands of the fielder placed at the boundary rope.

Samson attracts criticism

It seemed like Samson did not have a clue off where the fielder was placed and attempted yet another careless hit which was clearly not required at that point of time. After the shocking dismissal, Samson drew a lot of criticism with people trolling him for the kind of careless shot he played which led to his dismissal.

In the first T20I, Samson showed some of his skills with a small innings of 26 runs but his performance, instead of going up, dipped down as the Kerala batter registered scored of 5, 3 and 1 in the next three games. His performance in the ongoing England series comes in contrast with the last month’s South Africa series, where he notched up couple of centuries.
