SFA Championships 2024: PKL star power adds gloss to thrilling action on Day 12

New Delhi: News9’s revolutionary football initiative “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” continues to make headlines among the young kids from Hyderabad since the landmark collaboration with Sports For All (SFA). The ongoing SFA Championships 2024 has provided a perfect platform for the youth brigade to showcase their talent and skills.

TV9 Network has tied up with SFA, one of the biggest youth sports development programmes in India, for the “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” campaign, a one-of-its-kind football talent hunt for young boys and girls (age group – 12 to 14 and 15 to 17) across the country.

The “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” campaign has joined hands with Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, India Football Centre, IFI, BVB, and RIESPO, to pick the best young talent in the country through a wide network of top-class scouting network. The winners will be felicitated in Germany in early 2025.

SFA has partnered with TV9 Network’s “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” campaign to spot and provide a platform for young football talent, allowing aspiring footballers to register for the biggest talent hunt at the SFA Championships.

Electrifying finals action on Day 12

With only two days remaining, Day 12 saw electrifying moments on and off the field, the highlight of the day was the presence of Pro Kabaddi League stars Narender Kandola and Sachin Tanwar from Tamil Thalaivas and Ajinkya Pawar from Bengaluru Bulls. Their presence and words of encouragement fueled the energy at Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium as young kabaddi players battled for victory in the finals. This represents a powerful step towards elevating Indian sports bridging the gap between grassroots and professional levels.

The U-14 Boys Kabaddi final saw an inspiring win by Vignan’s Bo Tree School, Nizampet, over Rainbow School, Chinthal, following a motivating pep talk from the PKL athletes. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gachibowli, also claimed gold in the U-14 Girls Kabaddi final, showcasing the strength of Hyderabad’s rising kabaddi talent. Apart from Kabaddi table tennis heated up with early rounds, adding to the day’s competitive spirit.

Gachibowli Stadium also hosted intense matches across basketball, handball, volleyball, and football. Cornerstone School, Serrilingampally, clinched the U-16 Girls Volleyball title, while Vignan Global Gen School, Medchal, and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gachibowli, emerged victorious in the U-16 and U-18 Boys Volleyball finals, respectively. In football, Delhi Public School, Khajaguda, asserted its dominance, winning gold in both the U-16 and U-18 Boys categories.

With only 2 days to go Vignan’s Bo Tree School holds the top spot on the school leaderboard, the final days will reveal if they remain undefeated or if a challenger will emerge.

This year’s Hyderabad edition of the SFA Championships features over 23,000 athletes from 920 schools, competing across 22 sports. The Championships continue until October 28th, creating a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and providing an opportunity for schools to lead the medal tally.

SFA Championships aim to develop a culture that promotes investment in sports at the grassroots level. The multi-venue competition continues to inspire, engage, and celebrate young talent across Hyderabad.
