Steve Smith shushes Mohammed Siraj after pacer celebrates Khawaja’s wicket – WATCH

New Delhi: Mohammed Siraj removed Australian opener Usman Khawaja with a stunning delivery in the second innings of the fourth Test between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday, December 29. Khawaja scored a gritty half-century in the first innings but failed to repeat the same performance in the second innings.

Khawaja struggled against Siraj throughout the innings but in the 19th over, he bowled a full delivery and Khawaja did not move his feet and looked to push the ball but left a big gap. The ball sneaked through and beat the inside edge and hit the top of the off-stump.

After the dismissal, Siraj was seen silencing the MCG crowd during the celebration but his gesture did not go well with Steve Smith who was seen signalling a similar gesture to Siraj by putting his finger on the lips.

After few moments, Siraj also dismissed Steve Smith on 13 runs and celebrated animatedly.  He bowled a half-volley and Smith tried to play it through covers but ends up getting an outside edge and Pant took a comfortable catch.

Australia 6 wickets down

The Aussies are in trouble in the fourth Test match after they lost big wickets in quick succession at the MCG. Bumrah removed Konstas on 8 runs in the first session and Mohammed Siraj dismissed Usman Khawaja 21 runs. Siraj picked up his second wicket and removed Steve Smith while Bumrah removed Travis Head, Alex Carey and Mitchell Marsh cheaply. Labuschagne completed his half-century in 105 balls but the hosts are in big trouble after Bumrah’s fiery spell at the MCG.
