Nilgiris: Amid incessant rains in several parts of Tamil Nadu, an elephant was spotted swimming across the river. The incident occurred in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve Forest (MTR) in Nilgiris district. In the video, the elephant can be seen trapped in the swollen river. As per locals, there was a sudden rise in the water level of the forest river. At one moment, it seemed like the jumbo wouldn’t be able to make it to the shore. However, in the end, the elephant is seen reaching a corner of the river and set foot into the forest land. The video has now gone viral with many netizens calling it a ‘greate will power’ moment.

According top eyewitnesses, Heavy rains has been lashing Gudalur and its surrounding areas for the past two days. This has caused flooding in the rivers. In this situation, wild elephants come to the rivers to drink water cross the river, and go to the other side. Meanwhile, three elephants were walking on water to cross the river in the Dharmagiri area near Gudalur when one was unexpectedly caught in the wild flood and swept away. While the other two elephants were stunned, the wild elephant, which had been swept a short distance among the rocks, swam, waddled, and came to the shore, out of the water, and safely ashore.
