Hyderabad: Telangana state government will likely postpone the unveiling of the new state logo, Tv9 telugu reported.
As per sources, the new anthem ‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ will be unveiled on June 2, which is Telangana formation day but the state logo may not be unveiled on that day. Consultations are reportedly still going on. The new emblem is being designed by Rudra Rajesham.
KTR slams Congress:
The development comes after Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday visited Charminar along with his party cadre and threatened to protest the move.
Speaking to the media, KTR said, “Telangana is symbolised by Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar has been the icon/symbol of Hyderabad for centuries. When one thinks of Hyderabad, they cannot but think of Charminar which has all the qualities of a UNESCO world heritage site. The decision to remove them from the state logo is a foolish one. We condemn it.”
“I only want to say one thing to this government. The public elected you to improve their lives and to implement policies you promised you would. Not to remove things from the state emblem. This is foolish,” he further stated.
The old emblem showcased Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar as the symbols of the state. The Congress government has allegedly said that these are the symbols of autocratic rule and feudalism and had decided to get a new emblem designed.
