Washington: Tesla CEO and the world’s richest man Elon Musk reacted to Brazil’s first lady, Janja Lula da Silva’s remark at the G20 social event, saying “They are going to lose the next election.”
In a post on X, Musk shared the original video of the Brazilian first Lady by posting a laughing-out-loud emoji graphic.
Silva on Saturday during a G20 social event when speaking about the need to regulate social media to rein in misinformation said, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding, “I’m not afraid of you, f**k you.”
This comes as the Rio G20 summit is all set to begin on November 18 (Monday) with the first day of several high-level gatherings showcasing Brazil’s ambition.
Brazil vs Musk
Earlier, Musk who owns X, formerly known as Twitter was locked in an ugly legal showdown in Brazil over the directions to ban the social media platform. However, things turned easy after the X complied with all of de Moraes’ demands. They included blocking certain accounts from the platform, paying outstanding fines and naming a legal representative. Failure to do the latter had triggered the suspension.
Brazil is scheduled to hold its next presidential contest in 2026. It is to be noted that earlier leftist Lula had a razor-thin victory over his far-right predecessor Jair Bolsonaro in 2022.
