Travis Head drank 35 beers after 2023 ODI World Cup win? Aussie star answers in lie-detector test

New Delhi: Australian cricketers made some hilarious revelations as they took part in a lighthearted lie-detector test on the ‘Fletch and Hindy’ show on the Fox Network. It was a laughter riot as the hosts put the likes of Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins, Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja in the spot with some tricky questions about their personal and professional lives.

The blue light on the lie-detecting machine indicated truth while the red light signalled a lie. Some of the questions and their responses from the Australian cricketers sparked surprise and laughter. Head was hilariously asked if the rumour was actually true that he drank as many as 35 beers after winning the 2023 ODI World Cup title with Australia last year.

Head was the stand-out performer with the bat for Australia in the final as he played a sensational knock of 137 runs off 120 balls to help his team chase down the target of 241 runs comfortably with 7 overs to spare. Answering the question about having drank 35 beers, Head said ‘no’. However, he got an electric shock after the red light turned on the machine, suggesting it was a lie.

During the segment, Australia batter Labuschagne was asked about his teammate Glenn Maxwell suffering an injury ahead of Australia’s clash against England in the 2023 ODI World Cup. It was reported that Maxwell had to miss the game after injuring himself in a golf cart accident. Labuschagne said the incident did happen and that he saw Maxwell fall off the golf cart. However, he received a shock implying that he was lying.

Pat Cummins calls ‘Bazball’ bull***t

Australia Test captain Pat Cummins was asked if he thought ‘Bazball’ was ‘bull***t’. In a response that would raise eyebrows, Cummins agreed and said “yes”. ‘Bazball’ has been a term coined to refer to England’s aggressive approach in Test cricket under new head coach Brendon McCullum. While many believe the approach has yielded great success for England, some believe ‘Bazball’ might not work effectively for all teams in the long term.
