Nilgiris: An elephant calf that fell into a 30-foot well in in a farmland in Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris was successfully rescued on Wednesday after a 10-hour operation. Sharing the story on her scoial media page, Supriya Sahu IAS, Addl Chief Secretary Environment Climate Change & Forests, Govt of Tamil Nadu said “Tamil Nadu Foresters in Gudalur Forest Division in Nilgiris have successfully rescued a juvenile elephant from a 30 feet deep sand well in a farmland where the young elephant had accidentally fallen.”
