Hyderabad: A pantry car AC coach, which was parked on Meetuguda tracks near Secunderabad Railway station for maintenance, caught fire on Thursday and spread to another AC coach that was parked in front of it, Tv9 telugu reported.
It is suspected that the fire started in the pantry car coach due to a short circuit at around 10.50 am.
Workers named Nishanth and Raghu noticed the fire while performing maintenance work on the coach which was standing on the adjacent track. As fire spread, they responded immediately and evacuated the coaches.
Fire personnel of Secunderabad fire station and railway authorities reached the spot and doused the fire. The DRF teams assisted the fire department in extinguishing the fire. No casualties or injuries were reported.
