Chennai airport face delays or diversions due to bad weather

Flights landing at Chennai airport may face delays or diversions due to bad weather, as the airport’s main runway will not have an Instrument Landing System (ILS) for 3 months from June 19, making it difficult for the pilots to land. The ILS system gives signals to the aircraft home on the runway for a precise and safe landing. The AAI has issued warning to the airmen and pilots about the situation.
