New Delhi: Suryakumar Yadav is all set to lead Team India in the three-match home T20I series against Bangladesh and has been performing his role pretty well off action as well. In the practice sessions ahead of the first match that is scheduled in Gwalior, Surya was watchful of the Indian batters who are all ready to go hard on the neigbours to seal this series as well, like the Test series before.
In a video posted by the BCCI on its social media handles, skipper Suryakumar made good use of his time as he kept a sharp eye on the batters practicing in the nets. The likes of Washington Sundar, Abhishek SHarma, Rinku Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Jitesh Sharma were sweating it out with the bat as they tried hard to gain up their T20I form. Surya, who will be leading this young bunch of players, watched them closely during the training.
When Washington Sundar was batting, the day happened to be his birthday (October 5) as he turned 25 years old. Sundar was exemplary in hitting some inside-out shots which impressed his skipper. He was all praise for Jitesh Sharma as well who was hitting some big shots in the air and with grace which even Surya took note of. Surya exclaimed, “What a shot yaar Washiii,” and to Jitesh, he was all about “Nazaakat” (grace).
Surya also watched Rinku Singh bat to whom he said, “Brutal power” for his power-hitting shots. He also watched Abhishek Sharma going big and saying “WAAH” (WOW!). Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was picked in the India squad, also batted in the nets and left a good impression on his Team India senior.
