New Delhi: Star Indian batter Virat Kohli on Tuesday turned 36 with many fans and fellow cricketers have already took to their social media accounts to post their heartwarming wishers for the player. The Delhi-born Kohli received a special gift a few days before his birthday.
An unnamed Indian cricket team fan, in a viral video being circulated on social media, is seen handing out a portrait painting of Lord Hanuman famously known as Bajrang Bali. Wearing the jersey of the Indian cricket team, a fan met Kohli apparently in a hotel room. He first posed with the former Indian captain with the vibrant painting of Lord Hanuman. Kohli shook hands with his ardent follower after accepting the gift.
The fan was later seen having a brief interaction with his idol, who stood orderly with one of his hands in his pocket while listening to the fan with keen interest. It seems like the gift was presented to the cricketer during India’s third Test match against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium.

Virat Kohli made his international cricket debut for India on August 18, 2008, in an One-Day International match against Sri Lanka in Dambulla. It wasn’t an ideal debut for a 19-year-old boy as he managed to score just 12 runs in India’s eight-wicket defeat in the first ODI.
He has came a long way after missing to fire on his debut, scoring ample of runs across formats. Virat has numerous records to his name in an international career over 16 years and still counting. With 27134 runs across formats, he has the fourth most runs at the international stage only behind Ricky Ponting (27483), Kumar Sangakkara (28016), and Sachin Tendulkar (34357).
Kohli has accumulated 13906 runs in 283 ODI innings, which puts him third on the list of most run-getters in the 50-over format behind Sangakkara (14234) and Tendulkar (18426). The Indian batting mainstay is the second highest run-scorer in T20Is with 4188 runs behind his contemporary Rohit Sharma (4231).
He recently completed 9000 runs in Test cricket, making him the fourth Indian player to achieve the feat in the history of the longest format of the game.
