‘We can beat them again’: USA pacer fires warning to Pakistan cricket team – Watch

New Delhi: The United States of America cricket team scripted history at their debut T20 World Cup 2024 after they defeated Pakistan in a group match. In the event played in the USA and West Indies, they started off the tournament with a victory against Canada and then stunned everyone in the cricketing world by defeating the Men in Green.

The Monank Patel-led side scored 159 runs in 20 overs to force a tie and then won the match by five runs in the Super Over. After almost two months of the game, Pakistan-born USA pacer Ali Khan has issued a warning to the Pakistan cricket team saying that they can repeat the performance of the showpiece event and and beat the side again in the future.

USA pacer issues warning

In the video which has gone viral on the internet, the 33-year-old pacer has said that they are a capable side now and if at all they get a chance to play Pakistan again, they can very well beat them. “I think we are capable enough of beating them (Pakistan) again. If we get a chance to play them again. No disrespect to them, but I think we are a really good side now, and once we are like a full-strength squad, we can beat any team on our day, not just Pakistan. But it will be a great game if we get a rematch with Pakistan.”

In the crucial encounter against the Men in Green at the T20 World Cup 2024, Ali picked up the all important wicket of Fakhar Zaman, conceding 30 runs in his total four overs. The fast bowler made his debut for the USA cricket team against Papua New Guinea inn 2019 during an ODI match. Overall, he has played 15 ODIs and 14 T20Is for the USA so far and taken 33 and 12 wickets respectively.
