New Delhi: The Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated Premium Live Events for the whole company since its inception. This is the Premium Live Event that kick starts the Road to Wrestlemania, which is the hottest period of pro wrestling for WWE. This year is no different as the Road to Wrestlamania will start heating up following the conclusion of tonight’s Royal Rumble.

5) Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn had always been an underrated and underutilized wrestler on the main roster ever since he made the move up for NXT. The Canadian had always been a fan favourite that drew the best reactions from the crowd but was never treated like one till the time he was inserted in the Bloodline storyline. Ever since Sami Zayn became Sami Uso, his popularity and standing in the company grew ten fold and now he’s one of the most over superstars and babyfaces the company has. He still hasn’t won a world title in the company and winning the Royal Rumble would be a good way to kick start that run, especially if his best friend/foe, Kevin Owens wins his title match with Cody Rhodes on the night.
4) The Rock
A lot of the fans are expecting the Rock to turn up at the event tonight in what is anticipated to be one of the biggest surprises of the night. Fans are speculating that the Hollywood star, who is also in the company’s board of directors, might utilize his position to be the 31st entrant in the rumble. If that does come to fruition, it would make sense if the most electrifying man in all entertainment goes on to win the titular match at the end of the night, setting up a long awaited one-on-one singles bout with Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania.
3) Roman Reigns
Ever since his return to the company after Covid, Roman Reigns has been a completely different person since he was before. The OTC is probably the biggest star in the company currently and is the biggest crowd puller that the company has. This year marks the Tribal Chief’s return to the Royal Rumble since 2018 and he’d be gunning to win the match and reclaim the gold he lost to Cody Rhodes. Winning the Royal Rumble to set up a third successive Wrestlemania main event with Cody Rhodes would be a poetic end to the rivalry, especially with the twist of Roman chasing the title this time. He has won the Royal Rumble once before but doing it as the OTC would be a much bigger achievement for Roman than the 2015 win.
2) CM Punk
The voice of the voiceless has done everything in his time in WWE. He’s a former world champion, a triple crown champion, and a grand slam champion. Punk has won numerous titles and is also a former holder of the Money in the Bank contract. The only accolade that is missing on his long list of achievements is winning the Royal Rumble and main eventing Wrestlemania. He was slated to do so last year before injuries ruined his comeback for a bit. If WWE don’t decide to go ahead with the name that is next on this list, they should definitely pull the trigger on CM Punk’s win and have the whole arena explode at the result.
1) John Cena
Having said all of what we did for the previous entries on the list, there’s only one correct choice for winning the Royal Rumble this year and his name is John Cena. The 16-time World Champions kick starts his retirement tour tonight as he enters the Royal rumble one last time and this should mark his third ever Royal Rumble win. The fan base is begging for a John Cena win and this would be the loudest pop the company could generate on the night. Setting up a title clash at Wrestlemania with a potential record breaking 17th World title reign on the line, the story just writes itself. As one the previous Wrestlemania’s song says, ‘It’s written in the stars’.
