Yasir Arafat calls PCB a ‘circus’, its officials ‘jokers’ – Watch the viral video

New Delhi: Former Pakistan star Yasir Arafat recently lambasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in what was a brutal rant towards the board and notably called it a circus and the officials working there as jokers. Arafat’s criticism was centered on the poor scheduling by the PCB of the upcoming domestic and international matches in Pakistan Cricket, highlighting the Champions Cup and the England Test series.

Pakistan recently went down 2-0 against Bangladesh in a two-match home Test series and with England set to take on them, the PCB has come up with a domestic tournament named Champions Cup, a one-day event scheduled for September 12 to 29. The Men in Green will take on England in a Test series that starts on October 7 and as it turned out, the schedulling did not sit well with Arafat.

“Your grey areas have been highlighted. Fitness issues, technique issues, and pitches. Today I heard Jason Gillespie and the high-performance coach are going back to Australia. You are conducting an ODI tournament. These decisions I don’t understand. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a circus. There are jokers in that, and this is a joke,” Sportskeeda quoted Arafat as saying.

The video of the same rant has gone viral and fans have been supporting Arafat for his stance of circus and jokers, saying that PCB is indeed clueless about what to do with Pakistan Cricket.

Pakistan’s poor Test conditions

Arafat went on to add that at a time when the focus should be on the Tests with the England series coming up, the PCB is bringing ODI players. He even highlighted Test skipper Shan Masood’s recent press conference in which he said that their players haven’t played first-class cricket for a year and a half. “You have a big series against England coming up, and you are playing ODIs. This looks like a circus to me. The people who are working are jokers, and their decisions are jokes,” Arafat added.

With the recent loss against Bangladesh, Pakistan have slipped to the eighth spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings. Having played seven Tests, Pakistan have claimed just two and lost the remaining five. The Men in Green are yet to win a Test after January 2021 and with the second Test loss against Bangladesh, they lost five Tests on the trot.

Yasir Arafat recently slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board for their decision to host the domestic Champions One-Day Cup when the Test series against England looms, calling the board a circus and its officials jokers.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
