Telangana: Students protest to postpone DSC exams, CM Reddy vows to hold exams as per schedule

Hyderabad:  CM Revanth Reddy on Tuesday asserted that District Selection Committee (DSC) will be held as per schedule and no postponement of the exams will be entertained.

The Education Department has also announced that hall tickets for the exams will be released on Thursday, July 11 on its website. Director of School Education EV Narsimha Reddy said that DSC examinations will be conducted online from July 18 to August 5.

The government issued DSC notification to fill 11,062 teacher vacancies.

Revanth Reddy slams BRS:

Speaking at an event in Palamuru district, CM Reddy said that certain elements are conspiring to postpone exams and accused previous BRS government of delaying various recruitment exams.

He also said that coaching centers seeking postponement of exams wish to benefit financially from such delays and asserted that the government will hold exams as per the established notification and guidelines.

Student protests:

Students have been protesting since July 2, demanding to defer DSC exams till October. On Tuesday, as many as 20 students were detained at Osmania University Arts College building for staging a protest.

Aspirants say that the syllabus for the exam is similar to UPSC and they lack proper textbooks and time to prepare for the exams. They also demand an increase in job postings in Group – 1, 2, 3 cadres and asked the Congress government to fulfil its promise of releasing a job calendar.
