Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami rejected the call for unification of AIADMK made by the splinter groups including expelled party leaders VK Sasikala and O Pannerselvam. Following his rejection, former CM O Panneerselvam renewed the call for a united AIADMK. “Whether the AIADMK will credit its 11th consecutive defeat at the Vikravandi constituency for which a by-election is to be held soon or whether the AIADMK will repeat its 2019 performance in this constituency is a question that lingers in the minds of the party cadre,” OPS said.
“A magnanimous decision to safeguard the AIADMK is more important than thinking about whether unification of the party will result in losing someone’s grip over the party,” O Pannerselvam said. The expelled AIADMK leader’s call comes when the filing of nominations for the by-election to Vikravandi Assembly Constituency begins
