New Delhi: Gone are the days when only Indian cricketers recieved worldwide attention. India have finally found a sporting icon that doesn’t belong to the cricketing fraternity. Since bursting onto the scene at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, Neeraj Chopra has solidified his position as a global sports star with some extraordinary performances. So much so, that the Indian javelin superstar’s popularity has soared not just in India but on a global scale.

Neeraj has one of the largest female following among Indian sportspersons owing to his charming personality. His global fan base is vast, making him one of the most beloved figures in the sports fraternity.

Neeraj’s popularity among female fans was evident in Brussels, where he recently participated in the Diamond League finale. Neeraj finished second with a best throw of 87.86m in the seven-man event, which saw Grenada’s Anderson Peters claiming the title with a throw of 87.87m at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium.

While the stadium was jam-packed with thousands of spectators who flooded the iconic venue to watch the exhilarating action, plenty lined up outside the stadium to catch a close glimpse of their favourite superstars.
