FD interest rates: Public sector bank launches 2 new fixed deposit tenures | Details

New Delhi: Punjab National Bank FD tenures have been updated to add 2 new tenures for depositors who are seeking investment of less than Rs 3 crore. These tenures were launched effective January 1, 2025. The new tenures are likely to earn returns in the range of 6.7-7 per cent, according to PNB’s website.

Punjab National Bank is India’s second largest public sector bank.

PNB’s new 303-day FD interest rate

Punjab National Bank has launched a 303-day fixed deposit. This FD falls short of the 1-year mark by 62 days. The 303-day FD will earn an interest of 7 per cent, according to the bank’s official website. The new FD tenure will be available from January 1, 2025.

Senior citizens will earn an interest of 7.5 per cent on 303-day fixed deposits. Super senior citizens will be eligible for interest rate returns of 7.8 per cent on this FD tenure.

PNB 506-day FD interest rate

Punjab National Bank has launched a 506-day fixed deposit effective January 1, 2025. This FD tenure will earn 6.7 per cent interest for depositors. The FD interest rate for senior citizens is 7.2 per cent on 506 days’ fixed deposit. A similar tenure will earn interest at the rate of 7.5 per cent for senior citizens, according to PNB’s website.

PNB high interest rate FDs

PNB offers a higher interest rate of 7.05 per cent on 300 days FDs, 7.5 per cent on 400 day-FDs, and 7 per cent on FD with tenure greater than 2 years but less than 3 years.

Senior citizens earn 7.55 per cent interest on 300-day FDs, 7.75 per cent interest on 400-day FDs, and 7.5 per cent interest on FDs greater than 2 years but less than 3 years.

Super senior citizens will earn interest at 7.85 per cent on 300-day FDs, 8.05 per cent on 400-day FDs, and 7.8 per cent on FDs whose tenure is above 2 years but less than 3 years.
