New Delhi: Indian captain Rohit Sharma elected to bowl first in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The match was delayed for an hour due to a wet outfield and due to the overcast conditions, the Men in Blue named an unchanged side.
For Bangladesh, fast bowler Khaled Ahmed and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam replaced seamers Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana after the 280-run loss in the series-opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last week.
After the ground staff removed the covers, the players from both sides walked onto the field for warm-ups. In a heartwarming moment involving star Indian batter Virat Kohli was caught on camera just before the toss.
In a viral video, a member of the ground staff touched Kohli’s feet at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The groundsmen were removing the covers when the former India skipper walked to do his warm-ups.
As he reached closer to the pitch, a ground staff member rushed towards him and touched his feet. While Kohli gestured not to do it, the groundsman was pushed back by one of his colleagues.

Play on Day 1 called off due to heavy rain
Bangladesh scored 107 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 35 overs on day 1 at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The start of the match got delayed due to the overnight rain.
The Bangladeshi batters struggled to score runs in the first session as the ball was swinging in the air and the Indian pacers bowled well. Akash Deep dismissed Zakir Hasan on a duck and provided the first breakthrough to the Men in Blue.
He picked up his second wicket and dismissed Shadman Islam for 24 runs. Mominul and Shanto stitched a 50-run partnership for the third wicket. After the lunch, Ashwin dismissed Shanto on 31 runs. Mominul and Mushfiqur are batting in the middle but the play was called off on day 1 due to heavy rain.
