Heavy rain, thunderstorms lash Hyderabad, waterlogging observed

Hyderabad: Moderate to heavy rain along with thunderstorms lashed various parts of the city including Rajendra Nagar, Attapur, Golkonda, Film city, Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, Madhapur, Kondapur, Serilingampally, Hitech city, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli, Golkonda, Gandipet on Monday, June 17.

Rain is also expected to spread across South Hyderabad in areas such as Balapur, Nadergul, Saroornagar, Saidabad, Koti, Abids among others, independent weather expert T Balaji wrote on social media platform X.

Meanwhile, Disaster Response Force teams were seen clearing water stagnation in various places of the city. Citizens may dial 040-21111111 or 9000113667 for GHMC-DRF assistance.

However, high temperatures prevailed in many parts of the state on Sunday with mercury being as high as 35 to 36 degrees Celsius.

As per India Meteorological Department, thunderstorms with rain accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is very likely in some places in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Jagtial, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Sanagreddy, Medak Nalgonda, Kamareddy, Mahabubabad, Vikarabad on June 17,18.

All six zones of Hyderabad i.e; Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, Serilingampally are likely to receive light rain and thundershowers over the next four days.
