New Delhi: India will square off against England in the second semi-final match of the T20 World Cup at The Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27. The winning team will face South Africa in the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29.

India defeated Australia by 24 runs in their last Super 8 match at Daren Sammy National Stadium in St Lucia. The Men in Blue batted first and scored 205 runs in the 20 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 92 runs off 41 balls, his explosive knock was laced with eight maximums and seven boundaries. Shivam Dube, Suryakumar and Pandya also contributed with the bat.

Chasing the target, Arshdeep Singh dismissed David Warner in the first over of the innings. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head stitched an 81-run partnership for the second wicket. Head scored 76 runs off 43 balls but Jasprit Bumrah dismissed him in the 17th over. Other batters failed to contribute with the bat and Australia only managed to score 181 runs in the 20 overs.

England defeated the USA by 10 wickets at Kensington Oval in Barbados. English bowlers restricted the USA to 115 runs. Chris Jordan picked up 4 wickets and Adil Rashid and Sam Curran also got two wickets each. Chasing the target, Philip Salt and Buttler stitched a 117-run partnership for the first wicket as England won the match by 10 wickets.

According to Accuweather, there will be thunderstorms and heavy rain in the morning. There are 80 per cent chances of rain during the match time. There is no reserve day for the second semi-final but additional 250 minutes were added to get a result from the match.

What will happen if the match is washed out?

If the match gets washed out India will advance to the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 because The Men in Blue finished at the top of their Super 8 table. They defeated Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Australia in Super 8.
