‘India ka Babar Azam’: Fans brutally troll KL Rahul after poor knock in Duleep Trophy

New Delhi: Team India batter KL Rahul’s dismal run continued for India A in the first round of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024-25 as he was dismissed cheaply on 37 off 111 balls in their clash against India B. Being one of the most prominent names in the India A line-up, the spotlight was on Rahul as he came out to bat in the middle order against India B at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Batting first in the game, India A rode on a phenomenal knock of 181 runs from young Musheer Khan to post a strong total of 321 runs in their first innings. In reply, Shubman Gill-led India A were bundled out for 231 runs with the likes of Rahul, skipper Gill and Dhruv Jurel among others disappointing.

Coming out to bat at no.4, Rahul took his time to settle down in the middle. However, he failed to get going despite playing over 100 deliveries as he was dismissed on 37 which came at a strike rate of abysmal 33.33 with the help of four boundaries. Rahul was trolled online by fans for his poor show as fans called him out over his inconsistent run while questioning his place in the Indian team.

Despite managing a sluggish 37, Rahul finished as the top-scorer for his team in their first innings in what was a disastrous performance from the India A batters. Skipper Gill scored 25 off 43 balls while Jurel was dismissed on 2 off 16 deliveries. The hard-hitting Shivam Dube was sent packing on 20 off 42 balls while Riyan Parag could only manage 30 runs.

Pacers Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar impressed with the ball for India B as they picked up six wickets between them. Navdeep ran through India A’s top order by dismissing openers Mayank Agarwal and Gill before trapping Jurel lbw to finish with figures of 3/60. Mukesh dismissed Dube to open his account before removing tail-enders Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep to pick up 3 wickets while conceding 62 runs.

India B finished with 150/6 at stumps on Day 3, extending their lead by 240 runs against India A with the help of a terrific knock of 61 runs from Rishabh Pant and a valuable 46 from Sarfaraz Khan.
