Madness in Mumbai as fans turn up in huge numbers to watch World Cup heroes – WATCH

New Delhi: The craze to watch their World Cup heroes is getting crazier in Mumbai. Thousands of fans have flocked to the Mumbai streets to get a glimpse of their heroes who are expected to reach Maharashtra’s capital any moment. The 2024 World Cup-winning team departed from New Delhi in the afternoon after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.

As soon as the news of their departure got out, Mumbai cricket fans flooded the streets to welcome their heroes. Visuals of fans rushing to the Wankhede Stadium started doing the rounds on social media.

The team will go on an open bus victory parade, which will start at Marine Drive and will end at Wankhede Stadium. While several fans have lined up in the streets to watch the victory parade, some have already reached Wankhede, which will host a small felicitation ceremony. Videos of heavy rain lashing the iconic Mumbai stadium also surfaced on social media.

A historic homecoming

After several delays in their departure from Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, The Men In Blue finally landed home in the early hours of Thursday. Thousands of fans greeted the victorious Team India at the Delhi Airport. The Men in Blue received another grand welcome at ITC Maurya as staff and a Dhol Party created an electric atmosphere outside the hotel. Rohit Sharma cut a special cake inside the hotel to celebrate the historic win.

The two-time world champions reached the PM’s residence at noon and after a fun interaction and a special photo session with the Prime Minister headed back to the hotel and started their journey to Mumbai.
