Manav Suthar takes sharp catch on boundary to end Axar Patel’s innings – WATCH

New Delhi: Indian all-rounder Axar Patel made a big statement ahead of the squad announcement for the Bangladesh Test series starting on September 19. Axar played a brilliant fighting knock for his team in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on September 5.

Axar Patel is currently playing for India D in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024. His sensational batting against India C helped his team to get out of the trouble. Axar’s knock came at a time when the team was under pressure and lost early wickets on the pitch which offered a lot of help to bowlers.

He came to bat at no.7 when India D were struggling at 48/6. The all-rounder soaked in all the pressure and got his team out of the trouble. Axar didn’t get much support from the other end but he kept fighting for the team.

His game awareness was very exceptional as when his team lost quick wickets he took the attack back to the bowlers and played some outstanding shots. He smashed Manav Suthar for 21 runs and scored his half-century. In the 49th over, Axar tried to smash Hrithik Shokeen for a boundary but Manav from the deep ran back and put in an outstanding dive to catch the ball just inches inside the boundary ropes.

Axar’s knock helped India D to post 164 runs

Axar Patel played a crucial innings for his team on Day 1 of the match. The all-rounder scored 86 runs off 118 balls, his crucial knock was laced with six boundaries and six maximums.

Apart from Axar no other batter managed to get past the 15-run mark. Arshdeep Singh was the second-highest run-scorer for the team. The fast bowler scored 13 runs and also stitched an 84-run partnership with Axar. Vijaykumar Vyshak took three wickets while Anshul Kamboj and Himanshu Chauhan also picked up two wickets each.
