According to the order issued by the Electricity Regulatory Commission in Tamil Nadu in the year 2022, it has been reported that the Tamil Nadu government is taking steps to increase the electricity tariff for homes and commercial establishments from July 1 this year. The speculations on the rise that the Tamil Nadu government is planning to increase the electricity tariff by 4.38 percent, which is the inflation rate of April of the current year.
Similarly, several on social media said that the electricity bill will increase by up to 50 cents per unit, quoting that in July last year electricity charges were hiked by 2.18%.
