“While Hosur has been attracting investments for a few years, the government is implementing many visionary projects in Hosur, a new master plan is nearing completion in Hosur, and it is necessary to establish an airport in Hosur to help the overall socio-economic development of Krishnagiri Dharmapuri area. An international airport will be set up to handle it, “Stalin said in the Assembly.
He said that Tamil Nadu is the leading state in India in the export of motor vehicles, spare parts, leather products, and electronic products and said that many measures are being taken to achieve the economic target of 1 trillion by 2030.
Talking about the development, political analyst Sumanth Raman said “The key question is whether this has been approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Under the UDAAN scheme an airport was proposed at Hosur years ago but because there is a rule that no airport should be developed within a distance of 150 km from another airport this was on hold(Bangalore airport is <150 kms away). How does the CM and the TN Govt.propose to deal with this issue?”
