Tamil Nadu: DMK wins Vikravandi by-election with huge margin

Villupuram: The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has retained its Vikravandi assembly seat by securing 1,23,195 votes. The Pattali Makkal Katchi took the second spot securing 56,026 followed by Naam Tamilar Katchi which secured 10,479 votes. DMK president and Chief Minister MK Stalin thanked the voters for the historic victory and congratulated the cadres for their hard work.

Reacting to the victory Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin said Vikravandi voters chased away wasters.

At the end of the 21 rounds of counting,DMK candidate Anniyur Siva alias Sivashanmugam won the Vikravandi by-election by 67,757 votes on Saturday.He defeated PMK candidate C Anbumani who secured 56,296 votes while NTK candidate Dr K Abinaya got 10,602 votes.
