Madurai: Naam Tamilar Katchi’s (NTK) Madurai-North deputy secretary Balasubramanian was hacked to death during his morning walk by unknown persons on Vallabai Street in the city on Tuesday. According to police sources, the deceased was a history-sheeter known as ‘Punk’ Bala. The first phase of information has come out that there are 3 murder cases against the murdered Naam Tamilar Party executive Balasubramanian.
Personal enimity suspected: Police
Balasubramanian, who hails from Sellur area of Madurai city, was the Deputy Secretary of Nam Tamilar Party’s Madurai -North. This morning when he was going for a walk, few unidentified persons blocked his way and they started attacking with terrible weapons including sickles. This made Balasubramanian run away screaming. But the mysterious gang chased away and killed him in the Vallabhai Road area near the house of state Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
The police are investigating from the point of view that the murder may have taken place due to a previous enmity. Madurai Police Commissioner Loganathan has visited the place where Balasubramanian was killed and carried out investigations.
