Umar Nurmagomedov defeated no.2 ranked fight Cory Sandhagen and mainained his unbeaten streak with 18-0. Joel Alvarez defeated Elves Brener
Alvarez puts a dominant performance against Brener as he knocked out Brener in the third round via Knee stoppage. Alvarez prolonged his 100 percent finishing rate, It was the opening fight in the main card of UFC Abu Dhabi. Alvarez locked D’Arce’s choke in the first round but Brener escaped from the submissions. Brener also took some nasty shots in the second round and third round his gas tank was over and couldn’t survive from the knees from Alvarez.
Mackenzie Dern defeated Loopy Godinez
Dern defeated Godinez via unanimous decision. It was an entertaining fight as both fighters showed great spirits in the bout. Dern started the fight comfortably landing some heavy shots on Godinez and then dragged her to the ground in the first round, but Godinez battled back as she looked positive in the second round striking well and taking Dern to canvas and trying to finish Dern with an arm triangle choke but dern fought back and escaped from the submission. The third round was close and both women got their chance but at last, Dern won the match via unanimous decision (29-28,29-28,29-28)
Michael Chiesa defeated Tony Ferguson
Chiesa defeated Ferguson by submission via rear-naked choke. Two Ultimate Fighters winners were competing against each other in a welterweight bout. Chiesa didn’t give Ferguson a chance in the bout as he landed some strikes and leg kicks to maintain distance but immediately took down Ferguson attacked his neck from behind and submitted him in the first round itself.
Deiveson Figueiredo defeated Marlon Vera
Figueiredo defeated Vera via unanimous decision and maintained his unbeaten streak in the Bantamweight division and is now 3-0 in the division. Figueiredo also became the first fighter to knock down Vera in the UFC. Figueiredo was more efficient today as he mixed his striking and grappling well in the bout controlled the whole fight and also dropped Vera in the last round.
Shara Magomedov defeated Michal Oleksiejczuk
Shara Bullet defeated Oleksiejczuk via unanimous decision. The co-main event was controlled by Magomedov through his striking and got one of the biggest wins in UFC and is now 3-0 in UFC. Magomedov was quick with his leg kicks pushing the fight on the feet and dominated all three rounds and won the fight by unanimous decision (30-27,30-27,29-28).
Umar Nurmagomedov defeated Cory Sandhagen
Nurmagomedov defeated Sandhagen in a title eliminator match via unanimous decision. Sandhagen was well prepared for Nurmagomedov’s grappling and defensive well in the bout but Nurmagomedov changed his plans and relied on his striking as he pinned Sandhagen in the final round. Umar attempted 13 takedowns in which five times he was successful with the knock downs and defeated Sandhagen via unanimous decision (50-45,49-46,49-46).
