V Muralidharan hits out at Sudhakaran, says Congress trying to claim ‘ownership’ of Indian Muslims

Thiruvananthapuram: V Muralidharan, senior BJP leader and former union minister countered the allegation made by KPCC president K Sudhakaran terming BJP as anti-Muslim hit back stating that the Congress party who pretends to take the ‘ownership’ of Muslims have contested in 328 seats and winning 100 seats had only managed to have nine Muslim candidates.

The former union minister criticized the Congress party and said it should first introspect within themselves and get the facts and figures before questioning the BJP on its approach to Muslim community.

“In 2019, the Congress party allotted just 34 seats to the Muslims where in 2024 the party allotted just 19 seats. In a state like UP where there are 4 crores Muslims not even a single person was from the community was given the ticket. Neither in Maharashtra a single person from the community was given a ticket”, he said in his Facebook post.

Muralidharan further stated that the BJP had given a seat to a Muslim in Malappuram and which is what the Congress gave in Vadakara. In Malappuram, Dr Abdul Salam was given the ticket and he was defeated by an ally of the UDF. If he would have won from Malappuram, there would have been one more minister for the state.

Muralidharan also mocked the CPI(M) stating that the party which claims itself as a savior of the Muslims world over has not able to contribute a single Muslim MP to the parliament.

Today in the assembly, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had hit out at the Congress saying that it was the Congress party’s votes in Thrissur that had transferred to the BJPs kitty that led to the BJP opening its account in the state.

In Kerala, BJP pulled out the Thrissur seat that was won by Suresh Gopi by more than 76,000 votes

V Muralidharan, who was the Minister of State for External Affairs in the Modi-2 cabinet had contested from Attingal constituency but lost by a small margin to Congress party’s Adoor Prakash.
