New Delhi: Phil Salt pulled off a stunner on the boundary rope to dismiss Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Priyansh Arya in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 03. It was a jaw-dropping catch from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star, who helped Josh Hazlewood draw the first blood for his team in the high-octane final.
The dismissal took place on the final delivery of the 5th over after a solid start from PBKS openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh. Hazlewood bowled a short length delivery to Priyansh, who pulled it gracefully towards backward square leg. However, the shot lacked power as Salt cut it in the air before completing a stunning juggling catch near the boundary rope.
Salt timed his jump to perfection to pluck the ball in the air before lifting it back as he knew he was going to cross the line. The RCB star stepped outside the rope to complete a comfortable catch after throwing it back in the air. It was a jaw-sropping effort from Salt under pressure as he not only displayed great reflexes, but also calculated his throw well to ensure he could be back in time to complete the catch.

Priyansh was dismissed on 24 off 19 balls as Punjab Kings lost their first wicket in the 191-run chase in the IPL 2025 final. His opening partner Prabhsimran Singh too failed to make a big impact in the final as the right-hander was dismissed by Krunal Pandya after scoring 26 off 22 balls as Punjab Kings were reduced to 72/2 in the 9th over of their chase.
