Women’s Premier League 2025 retention: Full list of retained players by all 5 teams

New Delhi: After the blockbuster Indian Premier League (IPL) retention on October 31, the Women’s Premier League teams came up with their respective retentions on Thursday. According to WPL rules, a team could retain all 18 players, with a maximum of six overseas stars, and, on expected lines, all the franchises made the most of the move. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) didn’t make any shocking exclusions and retained the core group ahead of the WPL 2025 season.

RCB Retention list

RCB, the WPL 2024 winners, retained 14 players including skipper Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosa, Aussie all-rounder Ellyse Perry, and New Zealand veteran Sophie Devine. Meanwhile, the team released Indian youngster Disha Kasat and South Africa all-rounder Nadine de Klerk.

Smriti Mandhana (c), S Meghana, Richa Ghosh, Ellyse Perry, Georgia Wareham, Shreyanka Patil, Asha Sobhana, Sophie Devine, Renuka Singh, Sophie Molineux, Ekta Bisht, Kate Cross, Kanika Ahuja, Danni Wyatt (traded from UPW).

DC Retention list

Meanwhile, DC also retained the core group of players including Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, Meg Lanning, Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen, Alice Capsey and Annabel Sutherland. The Capitals released Laura Harris, Poonam Yadav, Ashwani Kumari, Aparna Mondal.

DC retained players

Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, Shikha Pandey, Taniyaa Bhatia (WK), Minnu Mani, Sneha Deepthi, Titas Sadhu, Meg Lanning, Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen, Alice Capsey, Annabel Sutherland.
