New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went for almost every player in the marquee list at the IPL mega auction. RCB nearly bought Mitchell Starc but Delhi Capitals snatched Starc from them. From the start of the auction, RCB looked like they had decided to go over the roof for any one player in the marquee list.
RCB bought only one player from the list as they bought Liam Livingstone for a decent price of 8.75 crore. RCB came as the second-highest purse in the mega auction but failed to make more purchases in the first two sets of the auction.
RCB retained Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal before the mega auction and now they added an Englishman to their side and will look to add more Indian core to their side.
While, SRH co-owner Kavya Maran was full of action as she went for Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal. But picked only Mohammed Shami in the mega auction for 10 crores. They steal Shami for just 10 crores.
SRH retained their core group ahead of the mega auction as they retained Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins, Nitish Reddy, and Heinrich Klassen. They are also the finalists of the previous edition of IPL.
Yuzvendra Chahal becomes most expensive spinner in IPL auction history
One of the best spinners in the world Yuzvendra Chahal was bought by Punjab Kings for a whopping price of 18 crores. SRH and PBKS went to war to capture Chahal but PBKS won again the battle against SRH as they took Arshdeep Singh from them early in the auction.
PBKS bought three players till now but they picked up three best Indian experience players. Shreyas Iyer most likely take the captaincy role, PBKS used RTM card on Arshdeep Singh and Chahal as their ace spinner in IPL 2025.
