Chennai: A Delegation led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin will soon leave for the United States of America (USA) to attract investments. Govt is looking to bring in big firms that don’t have a presence in Tamil Nadu yet, state industries minister TRB Raaja announced in the state legislative Assembly on Friday, June 28, 2024.
State industries minister also announced that the state government will soon release three policies – Space Tech; Circular Economy Investment Promotion and Toy Manufacturing, to attract investment in these sectors.
TRB Rajaa informed the house that Hosur Airport will be established at any cost and the announcement has been made keeping in mind all the issues around.
“60% of the MoUs signed at the Tamil Nadu Global Investor Meet in Jan 2024 are in advanced stages. Most of the problems regarding Nanguneri SEZ have been resolved & TN Govt has recovered most of the land,” the Industries Minister said.
It is to be noted Tamil Nadu government had earlier declared that it has bagged investments of over Rs 6 lakh crore at Global Investors Meet 2024 in Chennai in January this year and said it would provide 26.90 lakh jobs.
During the discussion demands and grants in the assembly, Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa announced that the government will establish 8 new SIPCOT Industrial Parks across the state with an investment of ₹10,788 crore. The locations include Chennai Outer Ring Road, Tiruvallur, Gummudipoondi, Ottapidaram, Sriperumbudur, Ariyalur, Tiruvarur, Thiruverambur and Kunnam.
